How long does it take to repair a windshield chip?
The brief has no sourced figure for chair-time, so we will not state minutes. What we can state is the sequence: clean the break, vacuum the air out, inject resin under pressure, cure it. It is a single-visit job that needs no glass ordering, which is why it is the most likely same-day work.
How long does a car window replacement take before you can drive?
The variable that matters is not fitting time but safe drive-away time — the point the bond can retain the glass in a crash and support airbag deployment. Standard-cure urethane runs about 24 hours below 70°F, fast-cure about an hour, express as little as 30 minutes in controlled temperature.
Why does the pinch weld matter so much?
It is the painted flange the glass bonds to, so it carries the structural load. Old urethane left behind, contamination, or bare or corroded metal left unprimed all produce the same outcomes later: leaks, wind noise, and a bond not carrying what it should.
Why does recalibration follow a replacement?
Because a camera aimed at the road through the glass has just had that glass moved. Static calibration uses targets at measured distances in a controlled bay; dynamic is a road drive at set speeds with a scan tool; dual is both.
Which one is required is set by the manufacturer, not chosen for convenience.
