What separates car window replacement companies on price?
Usually one of three things: reused single-use mouldings and clips, recalibration excluded from the quote, or aftermarket glass not stated as such. If one quote is materially cheaper, that is where to look first.
Why does the adhesive question tell you the most?
Because it has a correct, specific answer. Safe drive-away time depends on the urethane and the temperature it cures in — about 24 hours standard-cure below 70°F, roughly an hour fast-cure, as little as 30 minutes express, and 8+ hours in the cold for a one-hour product.
A fitter who names their product and its time today is working to a standard.
Is searching car window replacement near me within 5 mi the right filter?
Proximity helps for a mobile visit, but it is the wrong primary filter. Whether the company can perform the calibration your vehicle requires matters more than distance, because some methods need a controlled bay that a driveway cannot provide.
What accreditation is worth asking about?
The Auto Glass Safety Council publishes the AGRSS Standard, which is ANSI-approved, and FMVSS No. 212 sets the windshield-retention requirement a bond must meet. Asking whether a company works to the AGSC standard is a reasonable question with a real answer.
